ClashBots
Fun game involving robot fighting
Introduction
I love playing video games, especially ones involving action. And when I got a chance to make one for the competition, I knew I had to give it a try. So I combined my interest in gaming and coding to come up with ClashBots - a Robot fighting adventure, involving 2 robots- you and Freddy
Play Clashbots
Instructions
Objective - Defeat Freddy by reducing his health down to 0 and defend yourself so your health does not go down to 0. 1 Round. Winner takes all! Also, the ropes will push you back into the field immediately if you get banged against it.
Controls - Arrow keys - Up, Down, Right, Left - to move the bot. S to block and D to attack
An Insight Into The Game
The idea
A couple days before we started making our game, my dad told me about a reality TV show called Battle Bots
In Battle Bots, 2 real robots fight in an arena with dangerous weapons and tools
This is what inspired me to make Clashbots
The challenges
Designing the computer controlled player was extremely tricky because of the various combination of moves to be considered
Making a complete game in just 2 weeks along with school work and classes
Creating a game which is not too difficult or too easy, and fun for the player at the same time
What we used
To make our game, we used a website known as Scratch
Scratch is a completely free website where you can make your own games. However instead of the traditional text coding, it uses blocks as it's lines of code
These blocks can instantly be dragged and dropped into the editor to create programs
There are hundreds of different unique blocks to make your games complex
Future Scope / Next Steps
Add more levels / backgrounds / arenas
Add more difficulties
Option to choose robots
Introduce shields and super attacks in the field
